Hammond EJ14166 14x16x6" Type 4 Steel Junction Box, ANSI 61 Gray

The EJ14166 is a 14 x 16 x 6 in (356 mm x 406 mm x 152 mm) Eclipse Junior Type 4 mild steel junction box with a continuous hinge door and quarter-turn latches. It is designed to enclose electrical and electronic equipment and protect it in harsh industrial environments, and is used as an instrument enclosure, an electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, an electrical junction box or a terminal wiring enclosure. At 16 in wide by 14 in high and 6 in deep, this landscape body carries a 12.88 x 14.75 in inner panel, suited to wider terminal strips and component layouts.

The body and cover are formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. A formed lip on the enclosure excludes flowing liquids and contaminants, and a seamless poured-in-place gasket seals the door. The continuous 304 stainless steel hinge allows a 180° door opening, while the black zinc diecast quarter-turn latches use a slot that requires a tool to open. The EJ14166 is the ANSI 61 gray version, finished in a smooth recoatable powder coat inside and out; the same size in RAL 7035 textured light gray is EJ14166LG.

A removable 14 gauge galvanized inner panel measuring 12.88 in high by 14.75 in wide is included and mounts on internal threaded weld studs (10-32 thread per the drawing). The drawing shows a door opening of 15.36 x 13.36 in and 12.75 x 14.75 in of clear space on the door. 14 gauge welded brackets mount the enclosure, with 0.31 in holes on 14.00 x 14.75 in centres. A bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud on the enclosure, and grounding and panel mounting hardware are provided.

The enclosure carries UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 ratings (UL File E65324, CSA Cert. LR21001), complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and is REACH and RoHS compliant. It ships in a box at 21 lbs (9.53 kg).
