Hammond EJ14128LG 14x12x8" Type 4 Steel Junction Box, Light Gray

The EJ14128LG is a 14 x 12 x 8 in (356 mm x 305 mm x 203 mm) Eclipse Junior Type 4 mild steel junction box with a continuous hinge door and quarter-turn latches. It is designed to enclose electrical and electronic equipment and protect it in harsh industrial environments, and is used as an instrument enclosure, an electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, an electrical junction box or a terminal wiring enclosure. This 14 x 12 in portrait body steps up to 8 in of depth, with 7.94 in of usable depth on the drawing for deeper devices on the 12.75 x 10.88 in inner panel.

The body and cover are formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. A formed lip on the enclosure excludes flowing liquids and contaminants, and a seamless poured-in-place gasket seals the door. The continuous 304 stainless steel hinge allows a 180° door opening, while the black zinc diecast quarter-turn latches use a slot that requires a tool to open. The EJ14128LG is the RAL 7035 light gray version, finished in a textured recoatable powder coat inside and out; the same size in ANSI 61 smooth gray is EJ14128.

A removable 14 gauge galvanized inner panel measuring 12.75 in high by 10.88 in wide is included and mounts on internal threaded weld studs (10-32 thread per the drawing). The drawing shows a door opening of 11.36 x 13.36 in and 12.75 x 10.75 in of clear space on the door. 14 gauge welded brackets mount the enclosure, with 0.31 in holes on 10.00 x 14.75 in centres. A bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud on the enclosure, and grounding and panel mounting hardware are provided.

The enclosure carries UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 ratings (UL File E65324, CSA Cert. LR21001), complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and is REACH and RoHS compliant. It ships in a box at 20 lbs (9.07 kg).
