Hammond DTS3185A460N4SS 5-7000 BTU/H 460V Stainless Type 4X AC Unit

The DTS3185A460N4SS is the stainless steel, Type 4X counterpart of the light gray DTS3165 units: a 5-7000 BTU/H side-mount air conditioner for enclosures that need a Type 4X rating. Engineers specifying cooling for outdoor or corrosive-environment panels can use it to keep enclosure air clean while the refrigeration circuit removes heat.

Enclosure air stays in a closed loop, separated from contaminated ambient air, with maximum clearance between the warm inlet and cold outlet to limit hot spots. A condenser with 3 mm fin spacing gives strong protection against contaminated and aggressive ambient air and allows filterless operation. Refrigeration uses R134a with a 825 g charge and a hot gas bypass valve that prevents evaporator freeze-up, and condensate is handled by a built-in condensate evaporator. The exterior is 304 stainless steel with a Polish #4 finish.

For panels fed at 460 V, the DTS3185A460N4SS is rated 460 V 50/60 Hz and runs within 360-506 V. It draws only 1.88 A running (16 A starting) and consumes 1496 W; power connects at a terminal block. Rated cooling capacity is 6995 BTU (2050 Watts) at +95/+95F (+35/+35C), and the noise level is <70 dB(A). Listed dimensions are A 36.65 in (931 mm), B 11.89 in (302 mm) and C 14.40 in (366 mm); unit weight is 108 lbs/49 kg.

The unit mounts on the side of any enclosure surface, and the gasket, mounting kit, cutout and drilling template, condensate drain hose and clamp are included. Its thermostat is accessible from inside the enclosure and adjusts from +77 to +113°F (+25 to +45°C), factory set to +95°F/+35°C. Startup self-diagnostics, LED fault indication, EMI/RFI suppression meeting CE and a door contact provision for power-down when the door opens round out the controls. Standards are UL, cUL and CE with IP56; this part carries a Type 4X rating and is REACH and RoHS compliant.
