Hammond CST6403 400A 3-Wire Splitter Trough, 72x10x6 Type 1

CST6403 is a 400 A (CU/AL) 3-wire splitter trough measuring 72 x 10 x 6 in, giving the most length available at the 400 A rating in the CST Series. It is intended for electricians, electrical contractors and facilities teams distributing a service to multiple loads in indoor locations.

The splitter block is factory installed and carries a 400 A copper / 400 A aluminum rating (CU/AL) per the ordering table, with block reference CSBL400. The series is designed for distribution of up to 600 A (max) service at 600 V max using 3 or 4 wires, with 75 °C conductor ampacity permitted. The 4-wire version of this size is CST6404, and an empty version is CST6400.

The trough is formed and spot welded from 14 gauge mild steel and measures 72 in high, 10 in wide and 6 in deep (1,829 mm x 254 mm x 152 mm). The drawing shows a front opening of 70.75 x 9.61 in. A series of knockouts is provided on each side, with 0.88, 1.13 and 1.38 in diameters shown on the part drawing, and the hinged door is secured with a screw and fitted with a padlocking hasp. Cover and enclosure are finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating.

The CST Series is CSA Certified and complies with IEC 60529, IP20 for Type 1 indoor use. CST6403 ships boxed at 63 lbs (28.58 kg), and the part is listed as RoHS and REACH compliant.
