Hammond CSG18188 18x18x8 Galvanized Type 1 Screw Cover Junction Box

The CSG18188 is a 18 x 18 x 8 in NEMA Type 1 screw cover enclosure in unpainted galvanized steel, made without knockouts. It is designed for general purpose indoor commercial use as a junction, pull or switch box, giving electricians and contractors a plain steel box they can punch to suit their own conduit entries. The CSG18188 is the 18 x 18 in square box in the deeper 8 in version, adding room for larger conductor bundles.

The body is formed and spot welded from 16 gauge G90 steel, the gauge the series specifies for sizes up to 30 x 24 in. A flat steel cover is fastened with plated steel screws, and keyhole slots let the cover be lifted off without removing the screws entirely. Both enclosure and cover are left as unpainted galvanized steel, and a grounding location is embossed in the body.

Enclosure dimensions are 18.00 in H x 18.00 in W x 8.00 in D (457 x 457 x 203 mm); the part drawing shows an overall depth of 8.06 in with the cover fitted. Through holes in the back allow wall mounting. Listed shipping weight is 21 lbs (9.53 kg), and the part ships in a box.

The CSG18188 is UL-50 Type 1 and CSA Type 1 (UL File E65324, CSA Cert. LR21001) and complies with NEMA Type 1 and IEC 60529 IP20. It is REACH and RoHS compliant. Series accessories include CS perforated panels and Type 1 extenders.
