Hammond CS18143 18x14x3 in Type 1 Screw Cover Junction Box

The CS18143 is a rectangular NEMA Type 1 mild steel junction box measuring 18 in high by 14 in wide by 3 in deep (457 x 356 x 76 mm). It belongs to the CS series of screw-cover boxes supplied without knockouts, and is designed for general purpose indoor commercial use as a junction, pull or switch box. Electricians, electrical contractors and facilities teams can use it wherever wiring needs an enclosed, accessible splice or pull point inside a building.

The body is formed and spot welded from steel; the series sheet specifies 16 gauge steel for sizes up to 30" x 24", which covers this 18" x 14" part. Its shallow 3 in depth keeps the box low-profile on the wall, suited to splices and pull points where only conductors, not devices, are housed. The manufacturer drawing shows an overall depth of 3.06 in with the cover fitted, and the box mounts to a wall through holes in the back.
