Hammond CN4ST6604 600A 4-Wire 72x10x6 In Type 4/3R Steel Splitter Trough

The CN4ST6604 is a Type 4/3R mild steel splitter trough for 4-wire power distribution, rated 600/600 A (CU/AL) with factory-installed splitter blocks. It is aimed at electricians, contractors and facilities teams who need a gasketed, hinged-door trough to split a service into multiple branch taps indoors or outdoors.

The enclosure measures 72.00 in (1829 mm) high, 10.00 in (254 mm) wide and 6.00 in (152 mm) deep in the series ordering table, with a nominal size of 72 in x 10 in x 7 in (1,829 mm x 254 mm x 178 mm) listed on the part page. The drawing shows a 71.97 x 9.97 in door, a 70.36 x 8.49 in door opening and an included 70.17 x 8.17 in inner panel. Shipping weight is 85 lbs (38.56 kg).

Construction is formed and spot welded 14 gauge steel (the series uses 14 gauge when the width is 8 in or more), with smooth, continuously welded seams ground smooth and a formed lip on the enclosure to exclude flowing liquids and contaminants. It uses a seamless poured-in-place gasket. The cover and enclosure are finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating; the inner panel is finished in white powder coating and mounts on collar studs.

Door latches use a quarter-turn slot that requires a tool to open. Hinges are 304 stainless steel with stainless steel hinge pins, and the doors can be removed for modifications and are interchangeable. A hardware kit with panel mounting nuts and sealing washers for the wall mounting holes is included. The trough is CSA Certified Type 3R, 12, 4 and complies with IEC 60529, IP66. The series is designed for distribution of up to 600 A (max) service at 600 V max, with 75 °C conductor ampacity permitted.
