Hammond CN4ST373SS 70A 3-Wire 36x6x5 In Type 4X Stainless Splitter Trough

The CN4ST373SS is a Type 4X stainless steel splitter trough built for 3-wire power distribution, rated 70/70 A (CU/AL) with factory-installed splitter blocks. It suits electricians, panel builders and facilities teams tapping a feeder into branch circuits where the enclosure must stand up to outdoor or more hostile environments, since its stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistance.

The enclosure measures 36.00 in (914 mm) high, 6.00 in (152 mm) wide and 5.00 in (127 mm) deep. The drawing shows a 35.97 x 5.97 in door, a 34.38 x 4.52 in door opening and an included 34.17 x 4.17 in inner panel. Shipping weight is 26 lbs (11.79 kg).

Construction is formed and spot welded 16 gauge 304 stainless steel, with smooth, continuously welded seams ground smooth and a formed lip on the enclosure to exclude flowing liquids and contaminants. It uses a seamless poured-in-place gasket. The cover and enclosure are natural stainless steel with a smooth brushed finish; the inner panel is finished in white powder coating and mounts on collar studs.

Door latches use a quarter-turn slot that requires a tool to open. Hinges are 304 stainless steel with stainless steel hinge pins, and the doors can be removed for modifications and are interchangeable. A hardware kit with panel mounting nuts and sealing washers for the wall mounting holes is included. The trough is CSA Certified Type 3R, 12, 4X and complies with IEC 60529, IP66 (CSA certificate LL21312). The series is designed for distribution of up to 600 A (max) service at 600 V max, with 75 °C conductor ampacity permitted.
