Hammond CN4ST373 36 in 70A 3-Wire Type 4/3R Steel Splitter Trough

The CN4ST373 is a 36 in long, 3-wire splitter trough rated 70/70 A CU/AL, from the CN4ST series of Type 4/3R mild steel splitter troughs. The longer body gives electricians more room along the run to tap a 3-wire feed into branch conductors than the 24 in CN4ST273. The series is designed for distribution of up to 600 A (max) service at 600 V max, with 75° C conductor ampacity permitted.

The series table lists it at 36.00 x 6.00 x 5.00 in (914 x 152 x 127 mm) H x W x D; the part page gives a nominal 36 x 6 x 6 in, and the drawing shows 5.82 in overall depth. The part drawing details a 35.97 x 5.97 in door, a 34.38 x 4.52 in door opening, a 34.17 x 4.17 in inner panel, and Ø0.50 in wall mounting holes on 34.50 x 4.50 in centres.

At 6 in wide, the trough is formed and spot welded from 16 gauge steel (the series uses 14 gauge only at 8 in width or more). Seams are continuously welded and ground smooth, and a formed lip plus seamless poured-in place gasket exclude flowing liquids and contaminants. Splitter blocks are factory installed (reference CSBL125T). The door closes with quarter turn slot latches requiring a tool, hangs on 304 stainless steel hinges with stainless steel pins, and is removable and interchangeable, with stiffeners where required. Enclosure and cover are finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating; the included inner panel is white.

The CN4ST373 is CSA Certified Type 3R, 12, 4 and complies with IEC 60529, IP66. It includes a hardware kit with panel mounting nuts and sealing washers, accepts optional grounding kit CGK225, and ships boxed at 26 lbs (11.79 kg). REACH and RoHS compliant.
