Hammond C3RWT636 6x6x36 Inch Type 3R Galvanized Wiring Trough

The C3RWT636 is a three-foot, 6 x 6 in Type 3R wiring trough for outdoor installations that need to protect several wiring junctions at once. Its 36 in length and 6 x 6 in section give a moderate amount of wiring space along an exterior wall.

Like every trough in the C3RWT series, it is formed and spot welded from galvanized steel (the series is made in 14 or 16 gauge), and both the enclosure and cover are finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating, which is why the part is listed as Galv/Gray. A drip shield top design protects the enclosure against rain, snow or sleet, and the slip on front cover removes for access and is secured with screws.

The nominal size is 6 in x 6 in x 36 in (152 mm x 152 mm x 914 mm), with a shipping weight of 18 lbs (8.16 kg). The part drawing shows an overall length of 36.88 in and a 6.44 x 6.44 in overall section including the drip shield, a front opening of 34.75 x 4.42 in, and inside dimensions of 5.87 x 5.89 in. Mounting is through 4 embossed holes of 0.30 in diameter on the back of the enclosure, spaced 32.00 in lengthwise and 3.75 in vertically.

The C3RWT636 is listed under UL870 Type 3R (UL File # E186830) and CSA Type 3R (CSA Cert. # LL21312), and complies with NEMA Type 3R and IEC 60529, IP24. To meet UL870 - 2008 requirements the series specification sheet shows a bonding stud on the cover and a ground stud in the enclosure. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant. Note that effective August 17, 2026 the grounding strap and padlocking hasp previously included with each trough are no longer provided.
