The Hammond C3RWT412 is a Type 3R wiring trough measuring 4 in x 4 in x 12 in (102 mm x 102 mm x 305 mm). It is designed to protect multiple wiring junctions in outdoor environments against the ingress of rain, sleet, snow and the external formation of ice, making it a fit for electricians and contractors working on outdoor services and equipment.
The C3RWT Series is formed and spot welded from 14 or 16 gauge galvanized steel. A drip shield top protects the enclosure against rain, snow or sleet, and a slip on removable front cover is secured with screws. The enclosure and cover are finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating. The series specification sheet notes a bonding stud on the cover and a ground stud in the enclosure to comply with UL870 - 2008 requirements. Effective August 17, 2026, the grounding strap and padlocking hasp previously included with each trough are no longer provided.
For the C3RWT412, the enclosure is 4.00 in high, 4.00 in deep and 12.00 in long. The drawing shows a 12.88 in overall length, 4.44 in outer dimensions, a 10.75 in by 2.42 in opening, 3.89 in and 3.86 in inside dimensions and four 0.30 in diameter mounting holes on the back.
