The C3R864SC is a Type 3R painted galvanized steel junction box from the C3R SC Series, measuring 8 in x 6 in x 4 in (203 mm x 152 mm x 102 mm). Designed for use as a wiring/junction box, it provides protection against rain, sleet, snow and dripping water, for electricians and contractors making outdoor splices and conduit transitions.
The series is formed and spot welded from 16 or 14 gauge galvanized steel with a drip-shield top and seam-free sides, front and back. A slip-on removable cover is fastened with plated steel screws, and a padlocking hasp is provided. This series has no gasket. Enclosure and cover are finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating.
The 8 x 6 in face at 4 in deep gives a taller rectangular interior than the 6 x 6 in size while staying shallow on the wall. Embossed mounting holes on the back of the enclosure (0.28 in diameter on the drawing) allow direct wall mounting, easily removed knockouts on the bottom (0.88, 1.13 and 1.38 in diameters on the drawing) take conduit, and a grounding kit is provided.
The C3R864SC is listed to UL-50 Type 3R (UL File E65324) and carries CSA certification LL21312; the series is cUL Type 3R to CSA Standard C22.2, No. 94 and complies with NEMA Type 3R and IEC 60529 IP24. It is REACH and RoHS compliant and ships in a box at 5 lbs (2.27 kg).
