Hammond C3R24246SC 24x24x6-Inch Type 3R Junction Box with Knockouts

The Hammond C3R24246SC is a 24 x 24 x 6 in (610 mm x 610 mm x 152 mm) Type 3R junction box from the C3R SC Series, built from painted galvanized steel with a lift-off screw cover and easily removed knockouts on the bottom of the enclosure. It is designed for use as a wiring/junction box, for electrical contractors, facilities teams and panel builders who need a box that is protected against rain, sleet, snow and dripping water.

Construction is formed and spot welded 16 or 14 gauge galvanized steel, with a drip-shield top and seam-free sides, front and back. The slip-on cover lifts off once its plated steel screws are removed, and a padlocking hasp lets you lock it. The enclosure and cover carry an ANSI 61 gray powder coating over the galvanized steel. A grounding kit is provided; the design uses no gasket.

Hammond's drawing for the C3R24246SC shows an overall width of 24.55 in at the top, an overall depth of 6.32 in in side view and 6.98 in in bottom view, and embossed Ø0.28 in mounting holes on the back spaced 21.68 in x 13.00 in. The shipping weight is 40 lbs (18.14 kg). The bottom view shows knockout sizes of Ø0.88 in / Ø1.13 in (Detail Y, 4 places) and Ø1.13 in / Ø1.38 in (Detail Z, 5 places).

The C3R SC Series is listed to UL-50 Type 3R and cUL Type 3R to CSA Standard C22.2, No. 94 (UL File E65324, CSA Cert. LL21312), and complies with NEMA Type 3R and IEC 60529 IP24. The part is REACH and RoHS compliant, and Hammond's EU Declaration of Conformity for its Commercial Enclosures (including C3RSC) cites the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
