Hammond C3R18126SC 18x12x6-Inch Type 3R Screw Cover Junction Box

The Hammond C3R18126SC is a Type 3R painted galvanized steel junction box from the C3R SC Series, measuring 18 in H x 12 in W x 6 in D (457 x 305 x 152 mm). It is designed for use as a wiring/junction box and provides protection against rain, sleet, snow and dripping water, making this vertical-format 6-inch-deep box a fit for electricians, contractors and OEM panel builders who need a rated splice or pull point outdoors.

The body is formed and spot welded from galvanized steel (16 or 14 gauge across the series) with a drip-shield top and seam-free sides, front and back. A slip-on, removable lift-off cover is fastened with plated steel screws, and a padlocking hasp is included. Enclosure and cover are finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating. The enclosure has no gasket, in line with its Type 3R / IP24 rating.

Nominal size is 18 in x 12 in x 6 in (457 mm x 305 mm x 152 mm). The manufacturer drawing shows an overall width of 12.52 in and an overall depth of 6.28 in, with 0.28 in diameter mounting holes on the back spaced 15.82 in vertically and 5.00 in horizontally. Shipping weight is 15 lbs (6.80 kg), and the C3R18126SC ships in a box.

Installation is straightforward: embossed mounting holes on the back of the enclosure allow direct wall or surface mounting, easily removed knockouts on the bottom of the enclosure accept conduit entries (the drawing shows 0.88 in, 1.13 in and 1.38 in knockout diameters), and a grounding kit is provided.
