The BPE2EE is a Class 2 energy limiting plug-in transformer that converts 120V AC to 14V AC at 40 VA, delivering up to 2.86 A. It is aimed at installers and OEM builders powering AC chimes, door bells, security systems, decorative lighting, furnaces, humidifiers, appliances, vending machines and intercom systems from a standard receptacle.
The 14 V output sits between the 12 V and 16 V options in the BP range. The transformer is enclosed in a black plastic plug-in case, and the secondary connects through 2 recessed slot head screw terminals on the plug side. As a 40 VA unit it is protected by an internal slow blow fuse.
The BPE2EE is rated for 60 Hz and for indoor use only. It is CSA certified (#LR 113601) and UL listed (#E 184936), and is REACH and RoHS compliant. Shipping weight is 1.81 lbs (0.82 kg).
Every model in the BP Series takes a 120V input: the 20 VA models carry the BPD2 prefix and the 40 VA models the BPE2 prefix, and each group is offered with 12, 14, 16, 18 or 24V outputs. If your 14V load draws less current and you prefer an inherently limited design with no fuse, the 20 VA BPD2EE offers the same output voltage.
