The Hammond BC2DA is a Class 2 energy limiting transformer from the BA-C-D-E small box mount series, rated 12 VA with a 120 V primary and a 10 V, 1.2 A secondary. It is used by electricians, HVAC and security installers and OEMs in chimes, door bells, security systems, decorative lighting, furnaces, humidifiers, appliances, vending machines and intercom type applications.
The BC2DA keeps the 10 V output of the BA2DA but raises the rating to 12 VA and 1.2 A, giving more current headroom for 10 V circuits.
The design is rugged, low noise and cool running, for indoor use only. It is 60 Hz and inherently limited, so no fuses or circuit breakers are required. Input (primary) connections are stripped wire leads, and the output (secondary) is a screw terminal / quick fit tab terminal. Input leads are black.
Installation is by nipple locknut mount into a box, and the transformer comes complete with locknut and mounting bracket. Overall dimensions are A 2.33 in (59 mm), B 2.22 in (56 mm) and C 1.98 in (50 mm), and the shipping weight is 1.03 lbs (0.47 kg).
The BC2DA is UL listed (#E184371) and CSA certified (209651), and is built to a 105 degree temperature design. It is also REACH and RoHS compliant.
