Key Features

  • 1,020V C.T. high voltage (plate) secondary, 510 VA (CCS rating)
  • Secondary current 500 mA CCS / 750 mA ICAS
  • 115 VAC, 50/60 Hz primary (input Black & Black)
  • Runs full wave bridge or full wave C.T.
  • Enclosed construction with 4 hole chassis mount and minimum 6 in long leads
  • Class A insulation (105 degrees C); hi-pot tested at a minimum of twice secondary voltage
  • CSA certified (209651); RoHS and REACH compliant

The 717 is a 510 VA high voltage (plate) transformer from the 700 Series with a 115 VAC, 50/60 Hz primary and a 1,020V C.T. secondary, intended for builders and service technicians who need a centre-tapped plate supply. At 510 VA it is the highest-current 1,020V C.T. model in the 700 Series table, rated 500 mA CCS and 750 mA ICAS, and it is also the heaviest of the three at 17.7 lbs.

The high voltage secondary is rated 500 mA under CCS (Continuous Commercial Service) and 750 mA under ICAS (Intermittent Commercial or Amateur Service); the 510 VA figure is a CCS rating. The transformer can be run full wave bridge or full wave C.T. Input is on the Black and Black primary leads. A 117/234 VAC dual-primary version is listed as the 717A.

Construction is enclosed, with a 4 hole chassis mount, minimum 6 in long leads and Class A insulation (105 degrees C). Units are hi-pot tested at a minimum of twice the secondary voltage and the series is CSA certified (209651). The 717 is RoHS and REACH compliant, with a series-table weight of 17.7 lbs (8.03 kg).

Ideal For

  • 1,020V C.T. high voltage plate supply
  • Full wave bridge or full wave C.T. rectified supplies
  • Continuous commercial (CCS) or intermittent amateur (ICAS) service
  • Equipment run from a 115 VAC line

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the 717 and the 717A?▾

The 717 has a 115 VAC primary; the 717A is the 117/234 VAC dual-primary version with the same 1,020V C.T. secondary and 510 VA rating.

How do I wire the 717 primary?▾

On 115 VAC-only models the input is the Black and Black leads.

What do the CCS and ICAS current ratings mean?▾

CCS is Continuous Commercial Service (500 mA for this part) and ICAS is Intermittent Commercial or Amateur Service (750 mA). The 510 VA rating is a CCS rating.

Can it be used in a full wave bridge circuit?▾

Yes. Units in the 700 Series can be run full wave bridge or full wave C.T.

How is the 717 mounted and insulated?▾

It is an enclosed unit with a 4 hole chassis mount, minimum 6 in long leads and Class A insulation rated 105 degrees C.
