Key Features

  • Matching or bridging audio transformer, 10K/40K ohm primary and 10K/40K ohm secondary (1:1 turns ratio)
  • Frequency range 30 Hz to 15 kHz, +/- 1.0 dB max at +0 dBm; insertion loss 1 dB maximum
  • PC board mount black epoxy potted case with 9 pins, 1.64" x 1.33" x 0.85" high max
  • Electrostatic shield between windings connected to core and brought out to pin "SH"
  • Humbucking construction with balanced split primary and secondary windings
  • Primary and secondary can be reversed for impedance matching
  • 500 Vrms dielectric strength; epoxy workable from -40 to +105 °C
  • RoHS and REACH compliant

The 560Q is a broadcast-quality audio transformer in a compact, black epoxy potted case built for printed circuit board mounting. Its application is matching or bridging: both the primary and the secondary are rated at a nominal 10K/40K ohms, giving a 1:1 turns ratio that suits high-impedance bridging and isolation stages in audio and broadcast equipment designed by OEM and pro-audio engineers.

Connections are made through 9 pins (.025" square by 0.5" long per the series data), including a dedicated "SH" pin for the electrostatic shield that sits between primary and secondary and is tied to the core. Humbucking construction helps reject stray magnetic hum, and balanced split windings on both sides give circuit versatility; primaries and secondaries can be reversed for impedance matching.

Unlike the other models in the 560 Series, the 560Q is specified from 30 Hz to 15 kHz: the drawing lists the frequency range at +0 dBm as 30 Hz to 15 kHz, +/- 1.0 dB max, with the same range quoted at +10 dBm and +27 dBm (measured with no D.C. saturation). Typical electrical data from the drawing includes 7.30 H primary and secondary inductance, 1.230 mH leakage inductance, 339.0 ohm primary and 291.0 ohm secondary DCR, and 500 Vrms dielectric strength. Insertion loss is 1 dB maximum.

The case measures 1.64" (41.7 mm) x 1.33" (33.8 mm) x 0.85" (21.6 mm) high max. The epoxy has a workable temperature range of -40 to +105 °C under a normal rate of change (not including thermal shock). The 560Q is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the drawing is marked Made in Canada.
