Hammond 516-0010 14.38x8.5x9.25 in Ventilated Transformer Enclosure

The 516-0010 is Hammond's ventilated transformer enclosure, the single part in the 516 Series. It is designed for electricians, audio and power-supply builders and OEM engineers who need a heavy-duty housing for transformers and other heat-producing components.

The base and top are heavy duty 0.1" thick aluminum, strong enough that front and back panels will not push in from mounted buttons, controls or connectors. Each side has four horizontal rows of louvers for ventilation. Inside, a raised 0.1" aluminum mounting panel (case plate) carries 8 press nuts and provides a 5" (127 mm) x 8.63" (219 mm) mounting area. The front and back are recessed near the top with a flange that acts as built-in lifting handles.

The drawing lists overall dimensions of 367.03 mm [14.45 in] long and 238.75 mm [9.40 in] tall. The enclosure is rated IP30 and is RoHS and REACH compliant, with a shipping weight of 7.14 lbs (3.24 kg).

The 516-0010 includes adhesive rubber feet, rubber grommets, the aluminum case plate and required hardware. Replacement screws are SC18609-50 (pack of 50, #8 x 3/8" self-tapping) and replacement black feet are 1421T9. Factory milling, drilling and printing are available, and solid models can be supplied in .stp or .x_t.
