Hammond 2CSD83643 36" Deep Console Desk, 304 Stainless Steel

The 2CSD83643 is a 36-inch Deep Depth desk unit from the Series 2000 Modular Console System, built from 304 stainless steel. It gives panel builders and integrators a sloped operator surface for keyboards, switches, indicator lights and dials, and is generally combined with other modular console components such as a base, pedestal and/or turret.

The body and lid are formed 14 gauge 304 stainless steel, with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts or holes. Body stiffeners are added where required, and the lid profile adds strength. The sides and back are solid; the lid covers the sloped top area, the flat top area is open, and the bottom is solid under the lid and open under the flat top. Stainless steel hardware is used, and the finish is natural stainless steel with a smooth, brushed finish.

Enclosure dimensions are 8.50 in (216 mm) high, 36.00 in (914 mm) wide and 43.38 in (1102 mm) deep. The drawing shows a 33.98 x 20.16 in top opening, a lid clear space of 31.49 x 14.59 in, a 12° slope, and a bottom cutout of 7.50 x 31.25 in. As a Deep Desk it has an angled back profile and a top opening 6.7 in deeper than the Standard Desk, so it supports the Deep Turret only. Without a turret, the open top can instead take an optional hinged desk cover for a flat, sturdy work surface.

The lid is secured by slotted quarter turn oil-tight latches, with tamper resistant and locking latches available as options. Oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured and a formed lip excludes flowing liquids and contaminants. Several internal studs accept a Desk Inner Panel, and a bonding screw on the lid plus a grounding stud in the enclosure handle grounding. Ratings: UL 508A Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12; CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12, 13; complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and IEC 60529 IP66; EIA RS-310-D. The 2CSD83643 is REACH and RoHS compliant, ships boxed at 50 lbs (22.68 kg). The RAL 7035 light gray equivalent is 2CLD83643.
