Hammond 2CLD82436 24" Standard Console Desk, Light Gray Steel

The 2CLD82436 is a 24-inch Standard Depth desk unit from the Series 2000 Modular Console System, built from steel finished in RAL 7035 light gray. It gives panel builders and integrators a sloped operator surface for keyboards, switches, indicator lights and dials, and is generally combined with other modular console components such as a base, pedestal and/or turret.

The body and lid are formed 14 gauge steel, with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts or holes. Body stiffeners are added where required, and the lid profile adds strength. The sides and back are solid; the lid covers the sloped top area, the flat top area is open, and the bottom is solid under the lid and open under the flat top. The finish is RAL 7035 light gray textured powder coating.

Enclosure dimensions are 8.50 in (216 mm) high, 24.00 in (610 mm) wide and 36.68 in (932 mm) deep. The drawing shows a 21.98 x 13.96 in top opening, a lid clear space of 19.71 x 14.34 in, a 12° slope, and a bottom cutout of 7.50 x 19.25 in. As a Standard Desk it has a flat back profile, so it supports the Standard Turret only. Without a turret, the open top can instead take an optional hinged desk cover for a flat, sturdy work surface.

The lid is secured by slotted quarter turn oil-tight latches, with tamper resistant and locking latches available as options. Oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured and a formed lip excludes flowing liquids and contaminants. Several internal studs accept a Desk Inner Panel, and a bonding screw on the lid plus a grounding stud in the enclosure handle grounding. Ratings: UL 508A Type 3R, 4, 12; CSA Type 3R, 4, 12, 13; complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 12 and IEC 60529 IP66; EIA RS-310-D. The 2CLD82436 is REACH and RoHS compliant, ships boxed at 55 lbs (24.95 kg). The 304 stainless steel equivalent is 2CSD82436.
