The 266C24 is a 2 VA open-style power transformer that steps a 117 or 234 VAC line down to 24 V at 0.085 A (series, center-tapped) or 12 V at 0.17 A (parallel). It suits OEM engineers and technicians who need a very small, low-current 24 V or 12 V AC winding on a chassis.
The primary accepts 117 or 234 VAC at 50/60 Hz; the 266 Series connection diagrams show the primaries wired in parallel for 117 VAC and in series for 234 VAC. The secondaries can be used as a center tapped secondary (24V @ 0.085A), parallel connected (12V @ 0.17A) or used individually, and the unit is designed for use with all windings engaged. Every unit is hi-pot tested at 2,000V RMS.
Construction is open style with minimum 6" long leads and a dual bobbin design, so no electrostatic shield is required. Class B insulation (130 °C) is used for extra protection, and the design is UL listed as a Class A (105 °C) design.
