Hammond 265W5 250VA 5V C.T. 50A Filament Chassis Transformer

The 265W5 is a 250 VA low voltage, filament high current transformer from the 265 Series, built for chassis mounting. It has a 117/234 VAC, 50/60 Hz dual primary and a single center-tapped secondary rated 5.0 VAC (5.0 C.T.) at 50 A RMS. It is aimed at equipment designers and technicians who need a high-current, low voltage 5V center-tapped winding from either 117V or 234V mains.

Construction is open style with a 4 hole frame for chassis mounting, and connections are made by minimum 6" long leads or copper tabs with holes. A dual bobbin design means no electrostatic shield is required. Insulation is Class B (130 degrees C), and the series is Hi-Pot tested at 2,000V RMS.

The dual primary lets the 265W5 run from 117 VAC or 234 VAC supplies, while the 5V secondary is center tapped (C.T.) as listed in the series table.
