Hammond 186C28 28V C.T. 0.42A, 12VA Dual-Primary Transformer

The Hammond 186C28 is a low voltage, chassis mount power transformer from the 186 Series with a dual 115/230 VAC primary. It delivers a 28V C.T. (center-tapped) RMS secondary rated at 0.42 A, for a 12 VA rating, and operates on either 50 Hz or 60 Hz supplies. That makes it a practical choice for OEM engineers, panel builders and service technicians who need one transformer that can be wired for 115 VAC or 230 VAC mains.

Built on the C-size frame, the middle of the dual-primary range, the 186C28 uses an economical open style, channel frame design made for chassis mounting. Its split bobbin construction eliminates the need for an electrostatic shield. Insulation is Class B (130 C), and the transformer is designed for a lower temperature rise that does not exceed Class A, for longer life. Each unit is hi-pot tested to 2 KV RMS.
