Hammond 185F28 130 VA 28V C.T. Chassis Mount Power Transformer

The 185F28 is a 130 VA low voltage chassis mount power transformer from the 185 Series, designed for global use with a dual 115/230 VAC primary and 50/60 Hz operation. Its dual secondaries deliver 28V C.T. at 4.6 A in series, or 14 V at 9.2 A in parallel, giving OEM engineers and equipment builders a 14 V or 28 V centre-tapped supply from one part.

Construction uses a dual bobbin design with Class F insulation rated 155 degrees C, and each unit is 4,000 V RMS Hipot tested. Dual use terminals accept either solder or quick connect termination.

Per the series specification sheet, overall dimensions including mounting feet are 2.81 in (71 mm) wide, 3.07 in (78 mm) deep and 3.37 in (86 mm) high, with hole-to-hole mounting spacing of 2.25 in (57 mm) by 2.50 in (64 mm) (Mounting Figure B). The listed unit weight is 4.00 lbs, and the shipping weight is 3.9 lbs (1.77 kg). Wiring is set by the connection sheet: primary terminals 1, 2, 5 and 6 are connected in parallel for 115 V input or in series for 230 V input, and secondary terminals 7, 8, 11 and 12 are connected in series for the 28V C.T. output or in parallel for the 14 V output.

The 185 Series is c UL us recognized (E207860), TUV Type Approved and CE certified to IEC 950 (approved to EN 60-742 Safety Isolating Transformers). The 185F28 is listed as RoHS and REACH compliant.
