The 183H10 is a 20 VA low voltage power transformer for printed circuit board mounting, delivering 10 V C.T. at 2 A with its secondaries in series or 5 V at 4 A in parallel. Its dual primary accepts 115 VAC or 230 VAC at 50/60 Hz, making it suitable for board-mounted supplies that need a low voltage at higher current.
The low profile split bobbin and top shroud design separates primary and secondary windings; because the dual secondaries are non-concentrically wound, coupling is low and no electrostatic shield is needed. Hipot is 4,000 V RMS and the insulation system is Class F at 155 °C.
The series mounting table gives the 20 VA size as 2.25 in long, 1.88 in wide and 1.63 in high, with 0.036 in square pins, two-hole mounting for #4 screws (mounting screws not provided) and a weight of 0.9 lbs.
For 115 V operation the two primaries (pins 1-3 and 4-6) are connected in parallel; for 230 V they are connected in series. Joining secondary pin 9 to pin 10 places the windings in series, and that connection acts as the center tap.
