The 1760JB is a 40 watt push-pull output transformer for tube guitar amplifiers, listed for the Fender Bandmaster with a Tweed chassis reference and similar to Fender part numbers 45216, 1846 and 1848. It is a drop in replacement for technicians and restorers working on tweed Bandmaster amplifiers.
Its 6,000 ohm center-tapped primary drives 2.67, 4 and 8 ohm secondaries, and it is bobbin wound. Typical frequency response is 70Hz to 15KHz (0/-1dB referenced at 1KHz), with distortion under 1% at 70Hz. DC resistance is 114.0 ohms (primary brown-blue), 0.135 ohm (black-violet), 0.160 ohm (black-green) and 0.274 ohm (black-yellow). At 1.0 kHz, 1.0 V the primary measures 7.65 H (48.5 K ohm); secondaries measure 8.438 mH (126 ohm) black-violet, 12.765 mH (180.05 ohm) black-green and 27.76 mH (334.5 ohm) black-yellow. Leakage inductance brown-blue is 21.69 mH.
Dielectric strength is 1500VRMS and the temperature range is -40 to 105 degC. The open style design has all leads at least 9 in long: brown, red (center tap) and blue on the primary; black (common), violet (2.67 ohm), green (4 ohm) and yellow (8 ohm) on the secondary. Materials and design specifications follow the original to preserve the stock tone.
Drawing dimensions are A 4.00 in, B 2.80 in (REF), C 2.63 in (MAX) and D 3.560 in, with a 0.187 in slot. Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg). The 1760JB is RoHS and REACH compliant.
Ideal For
- Replacing the output transformer in a Fender Tweed Bandmaster
- Tweed-era 40 W push-pull amp restoration
