Hammond 1760F 15W Paper-Wound Output Transformer, 6,950 C.T.

The 1760F is a 15 watt push-pull output transformer for tube guitar amplifiers, listed for the Fender Blues Junior and Pro Junior and similar to Fender part number 49969. It is intended for players and technicians replacing or upgrading the output transformer in these combos with a drop in unit.

This paper wound transformer has a 6,950 ohm center-tapped primary and 4, 8 and 16 ohm secondaries. Frequency response is 70Hz to 15KHz (0/-2.5dB referenced at 1KHz) and distortion is less than 3% at 70Hz. DC resistance is 147.90 ohms on the primary brown-blue and 0.171 ohm (black-yellow), 0.245 ohm (black-green) and 0.476 ohm (black-white) on the secondary. Primary brown-blue inductance is 2.56H (15.89 K ohm) at 1.0 kHz, 1.0 V, and leakage inductance is 3.68 mH. Dielectric strength is 1500VRMS; temperature range is -40 to 105 degC.

Materials and design specifications were kept as close as possible to the original part to preserve the stock tone, and the unit is made to look similar to the factory part where possible. The open style design uses leads at least 7 in long: brown, red (center tap) and blue on the primary; black (common), yellow (4 ohm), green (8 ohm) and white (16 ohm) on the secondary.
