The Hammond 166G2 is a compact 1.25 VA filament-type transformer providing 2.5 VAC center-tapped at 0.5 A from a 115 V 60 Hz supply. Part of the 166 Series of economical single-primary, low-voltage/filament transformers, it is an open-style, chassis-mount design aimed at OEM engineers, electronics designers and repair technicians who need a small, fixed low-voltage AC source inside equipment.
Construction uses a dual bobbin design, so no electrostatic shield is required. Insulation is Class B (130 °C) for extra protection, and the transformer is UL listed as a Class A (105 °C) design.
