Part number 164E10 is a 2.4VA, 115V single-primary power transformer for P.C. board mounting. Built on a low-profile split bobbin and rated for 50/60 Hz, it gives electronics designers and OEM builders a 10V C.T. secondary that solders straight onto the board. Wired in series the two secondaries give 10V with a centre tap at 0.25A; wired in parallel they give 5V at 0.5A.
Two secondary windings sit side by side on the split bobbin rather than concentrically, which keeps coupling between primary and secondary low and removes any need for an electrostatic shield. It carries Class B insulation (130 degrees C) and a 2,500V RMS hipot rating. The windings are designed so that all of them must be used.
The E-size body measures 1.38 in long by 1.13 in wide by 1.19 in high and weighs 0.25 lb per the series specification sheet. At 2.4VA it needs no mounting hardware: the unit is held by its P.C. board pins, which use industry-standard pin spacing.
