The 164D36 is a compact 1.1VA power transformer for printed circuit board mounting, with an economical single 115V primary and a 36V center-tapped secondary rated .03A RMS in series. Connected in parallel, the secondary windings provide 18V at .06A. It is aimed at OEM engineers building small low-voltage supplies for 115V, 50/60 Hz equipment where board space and height are limited.
The transformer uses a low-profile split bobbin design with dual secondaries that are non-concentrically wound. That arrangement gives low primary-to-secondary coupling, so no electrostatic shield is required. Insulation is Class B, rated 130 degrees C, with a hipot rating of 2,500V RMS. The unit is designed so that all windings must be used.
In the series mechanical table the D-size (1.1VA) body measures 1.38 in long by 1.13 in wide by 15/16 in high and weighs 0.17 lbs; shipping weight is 0.14 lbs (0.06 kg).
