The 1630SEA is a 30 watt single ended tube output transformer with a 3500 ohm primary and 135 mA DC bias rating. It shares its suggested tube list with the 1627SEA, 2A3, 6A3, 6B4G and 300B triodes, or 6CA7, 6L6, 807, 5881 and 6550 pentodes plus parallel 6AQ5, 6V6 or EL84, but presents a higher plate load for designers who want a different operating point.
The 1627-1642 Series is "over designed" for high fidelity, single ended, Class-A tube output circuits. Each transformer is enclosed (shielded) and uses high quality (M6) grain oriented silicon steel laminations, with a gapped core to reduce core saturation in Class-A amplifier circuits. Insulated flexible leads are 8" minimum, and the case uses four slot, chassis Type "X" mounting with 0.20 x 0.38 in (5 x 10 mm) slots.
Secondary taps are 4, 8 and 16 ohms, with a 40% screen tap for optional Ultra-Linear operation. Listed primary inductance is 42 Henrys. The drawing shows typical values of 114 ohm primary DCR, 15 Hy primary inductance and 92 k primary impedance at 1 kHz, with secondary DCR of 415, 522 and 732 milliohms. Frequency response is at least 20 Hz to 20 kHz at full rated power (+/- 1 dB max.); hipot test 2000 VRMS; temperature range -40 to 105C.
Overall dimensions are A 3.75 in (95 mm), B 4.94 in (125 mm), C 4.56 in (116 mm), D 3.00 in (76 mm) and E 3.81 in (97 mm). The series table lists 11 lbs; the shipping weight is 11.18 lbs (5.07 kg). Made in Canada. RoHS and REACH compliant, UPC 623980008301.
