Hammond 162G10 12VA 10V Center-Tapped PCB Transformer, 115/230V

The 162G10 is a low-profile, PC board mount power transformer from the 162-164 Series, rated at 12 VA with a universal dual primary for 115V or 230V operation at 50/60 Hz. It is intended for designers and OEM engineers who need a low-voltage AC source mounted directly on a printed circuit board. The 10V center-tapped series connection delivers 1.2A, and wiring the two secondaries in parallel gives 5V at 2.4A.

Construction uses a low profile, split bobbin design with dual winding secondaries that are non-concentrically wound. Primary to secondary coupling is low, so no electrostatic shield is required. Insulation is Class B (130 degrees C) and the unit is hipot rated at 2,500V RMS; the drawing lists a primary-to-secondary hipot test of 2500V, 60Hz for 1 second.
