Hammond 1626SEA 25W Single-Ended Tube Output Transformer, 600 Ohm

The 1626SEA is a 25 watt single ended tube output transformer with the lowest primary impedance in its series: 600 ohms, with up to 250 mA of DC bias. It is aimed at hi-fi amplifier builders who need a low primary impedance with a high bias rating; the suggested triode is the 6C33, and no pentode pairing is listed.

The 1627-1642 Series is "over designed" for high fidelity, single ended, Class-A tube output circuits. Each transformer is enclosed (shielded) and uses high quality (M6) grain oriented silicon steel laminations, with a gapped core to reduce core saturation in Class-A amplifier circuits. Insulated flexible leads are 8" minimum, and the case uses four slot, chassis Type "X" mounting with 0.20 x 0.38 in (5 x 10 mm) slots.

The secondary provides 4, 8 and 16 ohm taps, and a 40% screen tap allows Ultra-Linear operation with tetrodes or pentodes if desired. Primary inductance is listed as 2.9 Henrys. The drawing gives typical values of 15.0 ohm primary DCR (blue to brown), 1.14 Hy primary inductance and 7.45 k primary impedance at 1 kHz, with secondary DCR of 290, 475 and 870 milliohms on the 4, 8 and 16 ohm taps. Frequency response is at least 20 Hz to 20 kHz at full rated power (+/- 1 dB max.), hipot test is 2000 VRMS, and the temperature range is -40 to 105C.
