The 160E56 is a 1.2 VA low voltage PC board mount power transformer for OEM and electronics engineers building a small isolated AC supply directly onto a printed circuit board. It uses the universal dual 115/230V primary for 50/60 Hz operation, so the same part can be wired for either line voltage.
The secondary is rated 56V C.T. @ 20ma with the windings in series, giving a 56V centre-tapped output, or 28V @ 40ma with the two halves in parallel, doubling the available current to 40ma at 28V. Pick the 160E56 when your circuit needs a 28V or 56V C.T. AC rail at these current levels.
Construction is a vertical mount, split bobbin design, and the 1.2 VA size is non-concentric wound. Low primary to secondary coupling means no electrostatic shield is required. Insulation is Class B (130 degrees C) and the series is hipot tested to 2,000V RMS.
