Hammond 160D20 1 VA 20V C.T. PCB Transformer, 115/230V Primary

The 160D20 is a compact 1 VA low voltage PC board mount power transformer for circuit designers who need a small isolated AC supply on the board. It uses the universal dual 115/230V primary for 50/60 Hz operation, so the same part can be wired for either line voltage.

The secondary is rated 20V C.T. @ 45ma with the windings in series, giving a 20V centre-tapped output, or 10V @ 90ma with the two halves in parallel, doubling the available current to 90ma at 10V. Pick the 160D20 when your circuit needs a 10V or 20V C.T. AC rail at these current levels.

Construction is a vertical mount, split bobbin design, and the 1 VA size is concentric wound. Low primary to secondary coupling means no electrostatic shield is required. Insulation is Class B (130 degrees C) and the series is hipot tested to 2,000V RMS.

The 160 Series mechanical table lists this 1 VA size with overall dimensions of A 1.00", B 1.38" and C 0.83", with 0.02" x 0.04" pins (D), E 1.20" and G 0.20" (inch). The part drawing specifies A 1.000" ±0.031, B 1.360" ±0.031, C 0.815" ±0.063, pin size 0.018" X 0.041" ±0.005, E 1.200" ±0.031 and G 0.200" ±0.031, with excitation current of 6mA max at 115V, 60Hz. Shipping weight is 0.13 lbs (0.06 kg).

The 160-161 Series is CSA certified (File # LR3902) and UL recognized (File #E207860), and the 160D20 is RoHS and REACH compliant. If you only need a 115V, 60 Hz primary, the economical single-primary equivalent with the same secondary rating is the 161D20.
