The 159ZL is a 2.5 mH DC reactor rated for 10 A DC and 500 VDC maximum operating voltage, the highest-current part in this group, for heavy-current DC supply filtering.
Its data sheet lists typical values of 768 kHz self-resonant frequency, 0.942 / 1.54 ohm impedance at 60/120 Hz, 47 milliohm DCR and 2500 V RMS dielectric strength.
Electrically, the 159ZL is specified at 2.5mH ±15% with its inductance measured at the rated 10 A DC. DC resistance is 0.044 ohms ±15% and the maximum operating voltage is 500 VDC. As with every choke in the 153-159 Series, it will show less inductance at slightly higher currents and more inductance at lower currents, so size it to the actual load current.
Construction follows the series' economical open-bracket channel mount, with leads at least 5 in long.
