Hammond 1599TABLBKBAT 240 mm Large Tablet Enclosure, Battery Door, Black

The 1599TABLBKBAT is the large-size battery-compartment version of the 1599TAB tablet enclosure, in black. It is a low profile, ergonomically shaped case that fits comfortably in the hands, aimed at portable instruments and mobile data devices, including designs that need a touch screen, that run from AA or 9V batteries.

Both halves are molded from flame retardant ABS with a UL94 V-0 rating. The case is closed with 6 M3-0.5 x 18 mm Phillips machine screws that thread into integral brass bushings factory inserted into the top half, so it holds up to repeated assembly and disassembly; the drawing gives a recommended cover screw torque of 43-50 ozf.in (30-35 cN-m). Lap joint construction protects against dust and splashing water.

Outside dimensions are 9.45 in (240 mm) long, 7.48 in (190 mm) wide and 1.18 in (30 mm) deep. The top has a recessed inlay of 229.78 mm [9.05 in] by 179.78 mm [7.08 in], and the bottom half carries a molded 50.0 mm x 50.0 mm label inlay. Inside, the inner height is 23.25 mm [0.92 in] and PC board standoffs are molded into both the top and bottom halves; the maximum P.C. board size is 179.56 mm by 158.66 mm.

The assembly includes top and bottom covers, one removable end panel, the battery door, 8 battery spring clips (for 4x AA batteries), two 9V (PP3) adapters and the 6 cover screws. Replacement clip kits are 1553HDR-BKIT (AA) and 53BATCLIP9V-B (9V). It is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink-wrapped at 0.88 lbs (0.40 kg).
