Hammond 1599KTLBKBAT 220 mm Long-Slope Console, Battery Door, Black

The 1599KTLBKBAT is a black long-slope sloping console from the 1599T series with a battery door, for battery-powered interface electronics using optional AA, AAA or 9V cell holders. It measures 220 mm from front to rear and 140 mm wide, rising from a 20 mm front to a 46 mm rear height along its long slope.

The box and lid are molded from flame retardant ABS rated UL94 V-0. Standard versions close with M3-0.5 machine screws that thread into brass bushings, so the lid can be removed and refitted repeatedly; the recommended cover screw torque is 42-57 ozf.in (30-40 cN.m). The rear of the enclosure has one flat removable panel for easy modification, and the K size includes PC board standoffs on both the inside top and bottom. Four black rubber feet are included with the enclosure.

The maximum P.C. board size is 131 mm long by 140.5 mm wide (board not supplied), and the inside of the box accepts #4 self-tapping screws for mounting it. The top carries a recessed inlay of 208.50 mm [8.21 in] by 126.00 mm [4.96 in].

Battery holder kits are optional and sold separately. For this 1599K size the compatibility table lists BH1AAW through BH4AAW (1 to 4 AA cells), BH1AAAW through BH4AAAW (1 to 4 AAA cells) and BS61 (one 9V cell); each kit includes the battery holder, wires and a foam anti-rattle pad. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships shrink-wrapped and has a shipping weight of 0.64 lbs (0.29 kg).

Some chemicals can damage or weaken ABS, including acetone, ketones, thread-locking compounds and cutting or tapping fluid, so check any cleaner, lubricant or fluid for plastic compatibility before use.
