The panels are molded from ABS plastic in black with a UL94 V-0 flame rating. The 1598 Series notes that replacement natural finish aluminum and black plastic end panels are available, with the compatible panel set shown in the part number table; for the 1598G size that black plastic set is 1598PLGBK, while the aluminum alternative is 1598PLG-AL.
