Hammond 1597KITRBPI 22.5 mm Rail Box Case for Raspberry Pi B

The 1597KITRBPI is a 22.5 mm rail box DIN enclosure kit for the Raspberry Pi B+, part of the Italtronic 1597KIT Embedded DIN Rail Mounted Enclosures series. Rail box models present a narrow profile on a standard 35 mm DIN rail, which suits control panel builders and integrators putting a Raspberry Pi B+ alongside other rail-mounted devices. At 22.5 mm deep it is the slimmer of the two rail box kits in the series; the 1597KITRBPIB is 45 mm.

The enclosure is PC-ABS in RAL7035 light grey (UL94 V-2 per the part page), with pre-made cutouts for the board's components. The purchased enclosure includes the base, cover, front panel, two side panels and a DIN clip with spring; the drawing lists the clip as nylon, and the series describes the red rail box clips as PA6 with a UL 94 V-2 rating. The Raspberry Pi B+ is not included.

Sizes: the part page lists 4.7 in x 3.98 in x 0.89 in (119 mm x 101 mm x 23 mm); the series table gives 119 mm x 101 mm x 22.5 mm; the drawing shows 119.35 mm [4.70 in] by 101.00 mm [3.98 in] by 22.49 mm [.89 in]. Shipping weight is 0.13 lbs (0.06 kg).

Assembly follows the series rail box instructions: attach the front and rear panels, place the board onto the base (the base has no hooks), install the side panel, snap the top on (the top has hooks), place the spring into the DIN rail clip, align the clip's side tabs with the enclosure slots and slide it into position until it clicks. The replacement red DIN clip with spring is 1597DINCLIPRB.

The 1597KITRBPI is RoHS and REACH compliant. Factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) is available, and solid models come in .stp or .x_t.
