Hammond 1597DIN9MDH53 DIN9 Rail Enclosure, Open Top and Terminals

The 1597DIN9MDH53 is an Italtronic DIN9 enclosure from the 1597DM series, built to house printed circuit boards, terminal blocks and other DIN rail mounted electronics. It has an open top and open terminals on both sides, making it a wide nine-module base for control panel builders and OEM engineers who need terminal access along each long edge.

The cover and base are moulded from RAL7035 light grey PPO thermoplastic carrying a UL94 V-0 flame rating. The enclosure mounts to a standard 35 mm DIN rail with its integrated clip, and snap closures mean it assembles without any hardware. The purchased enclosure includes the base, cover and DIN clip; the top covers shown on the drawing are not included.

The part page lists a size of 3.54 x 6.28 x 2.28 in (90 x 160 mm x 58 mm), while the series ordering table gives 90 x 159 x 58 mm and the drawing shows 90.20 mm [3.55 in] long, 159.40 mm [6.28 in] wide and 58.00 mm [2.28 in] deep. Shipping weight is 0.19 lbs (0.09 kg). In the DIN numbering, the group number refers to the number of terminals on each side, so this is the DIN 9 size.

Because the top is open, the drawing points to matching DIN 9 accessories: grey top cover 1597D9MPH, clear top cover 1597D9MPRHTPC and grey top cover with inlay 1597D9MPRH, plus the 1597D3M terminal covers (blank closed, blank open, with holes, punch-out holes or bus connector), bread board 1597D4MADP and replacement DIN clip 1597DINCLIPXT. Some accessories are not compatible with all enclosures in a DIN size group, so check the drawing to confirm fit.

The 1597DIN9MDH53 is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the factory can mill, drill or print it; solid models are available in .stp or .x_t.
