Hammond 1596B102-10 10-Pack 30x20x15 mm Black ABS Potting Boxes

The 1596B102-10 is a pack of 10 black plastic potting boxes, each one a slim rectangular cup 30 mm long and 20 mm wide, a little longer than the 1596B101. Each box is a one piece molded cup with no lid, designed for potting box applications, so electronics builders, OEM production teams and repair technicians can encapsulate a narrow strip of circuitry or an elongated component in compound and have a neat, consistent outer shell. Buying the 10-pack keeps identical boxes on hand for small production runs.

The box is molded from black general purpose ABS plastic with a flame rating of UL94-HB and a smooth black finish. It is temperature rated from -20º to +94º C (-4º to 201.2º F), which is worth checking against the cure temperature of your potting compound. Wall thickness is 1.0 mm (0.04 in) per the series specification, matching the 1.00 mm shown on the drawing.

Some chemicals can damage or weaken ABS, so avoid acetone, ketones, ethers, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, thread locking compounds, cutting or tapping fluid and strong solvents, and confirm any grease or oil is plastic safe.
