Hammond 1594AWGY 56x56x40mm Gray Water-Tight ABS Enclosure, IP65

The 1594AWGY is the light gray water-tight version of the Hammond 1594A heavy duty ABS enclosure, built for printed circuit board assemblies that need protection from dust and water. Its nominal size is 2.2 in x 2.2 in x 1.57 in (56 mm x 56 mm x 40 mm), making it a compact sealed housing for sensors, controls and small electronics.

It is molded in flame retardant ABS plastic (UL94 V-0) with a matte textured light gray finish. The part page lists an IP65 rating, and the series specification states that water-tight versions have been tested to and meet IP66. The heavy duty thick-wall body averages 0.13 in (3.3 mm) per the series data; the drawing gives 3.10 mm [.122 in].

The lid is secured with four M3 x 0.5 - 0.71 in (18 mm) long Phillips machine screws threaded into integral brass bushings. Replacement machine screws with o-rings are sold in packs of 100 (1594WMS100), and the replacement silicone lid gasket is 1594AGASKET, supplied as a 2-pack. Inside, the drawing shows a narrowest inside dimension of 46.67 mm [1.838 in] and an inner box height of 34.30 mm [1.350 in].

The 1594AWGY is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 0.13 lbs (0.06 kg). Like the rest of the 1594 family it can be factory modified by milling, drilling or printing, and STEP or IGES solid models are available for design work.

Note that some chemicals can damage or weaken ABS, including acetone, ketones, ethers, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, thread locking compounds, cutting or tapping fluid and strong solvents; use only plastic-safe cleaners.
