Hammond 1593KALGY 66x67mm Light Gray Handheld ABS Enclosure, IP54

The 1593KALGY is a compact light gray ABS handheld enclosure with two aluminum end panels, part of the 1593AL series. Its near-square 1593K footprint makes it a practical housing for small instruments, sensor nodes and controllers built on a printed circuit board, with an ergonomic profile designed for a comfortable fit in the hand.

The drawing gives overall dimensions of 67.22 x 66.22 x 28.00 mm (2.65 x 2.61 x 1.10 in); the part page lists a nominal size of 2.6 x 2.6 x 1.1 in (66 x 66 x 28 mm). Internal space is 55.66 mm long, 59.39 mm wide and 22.00 mm high. The recessed top carries a 55.00 x 55.00 mm inlay, 1.00 mm deep, for a membrane display or keypad.

Both ends take removable flat aluminum panels 1.63 mm thick, leaving room for connectors at the front and rear. There is no battery door, and the part is IP54 rated, with lap joint construction protecting against dust accumulation and splashing water. The purchased assembly includes top and bottom covers, 2 aluminum panels and 2 cover screws (nickel finish screws for this colour), tightened to a recommended 57 lbf-in (40 cN-m).

The general purpose ABS is UL94 HB flame rated, and the enclosure is RoHS and REACH compliant. A matching P.C. board, 1593KPCB, is sold separately, along with 1593ATS50 board screws, 1593PIR10 IR panels, 1593PAL10 aluminum panels and the 1599CLIP / 1599CLIPGY belt clip.
