Hammond 1593DGY Slim Grey Handheld ABS Enclosure, 114 x 36 mm

The 1593DGY is the light grey version of the slim 1593D handheld instrument enclosure, a narrow electronic instrument case for designers mounting a long, thin printed circuit board in a device that sits comfortably in the hand. It is molded from general purpose ABS plastic (UL94 HB) with a satin texture and is designed to meet IP54 as a version without a battery door.

The series table lists the 1593D at 114 mm long, 36 mm wide and 26 mm deep (4.49 x 1.42 x 1.02 in); the part page gives 4.5 x 1.4 x 1 in (114 x 36 x 25 mm). Inside, the drawing shows 103.80 mm of length, 29.76 mm of width and 19.80 mm of height, and the maximum recommended board is 105.80 x 25.98 mm. Mounting bosses accept #4 self-tapping screws.

Each purchased assembly includes the top and bottom cover, four plastic end panels (two flat and two contoured to follow the case profile) and two cover screws. Because this is a grey enclosure, the included screws have a nickel finish. The top carries a 100.70 x 23.90 mm recess, 0.50 mm deep, for a membrane display or keypad.

Accessories on the 1593DGY drawing include 1593DIR10 infrared end panels, 1593DAL10 aluminum end panels, single flat and contoured replacement panels, the 1599CLIP / 1599CLIPGY nylon belt clip and 1593QS100 cover screws. The case is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships shrink wrapped at 0.1 lbs (0.05 kg) and can be factory modified by milling, drilling or printing.
