Hammond 1591XXUFLGY 123mm Square Gray Flanged Lid ABS Enclosure, IP54

The 1591XXUFLGY is a light gray, flanged-lid version of the 1591XX multi-purpose plastic enclosure, sized at 4.86 in x 4.86 in x 2.25 in (123 mm x 123 mm x 57 mm). It suits OEM engineers and electronics builders who need a compact project box that mounts directly to a wall or shelf and holds a printed circuit board horizontally.

The box is molded from easy-to-machine, flame retardant ABS carrying a UL94 V-0 flammability rating, and it is designed to meet IP54 for protection against dust and splashing water. The lid is secured with four M3-0.5 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws threaded into installed brass inserts, a good fit where the unit will be opened and closed repeatedly. As a gray enclosure it ships with nickel plated screws. Recommended cover-screw torque is 43-50 ozf.in (30-35 cN.m).

Inside you get 115.66 mm x 115.66 mm of floor space and 55.40 mm of height, with 2.00 mm walls and smooth internal sides for easy connector installation. Both the box and the lid carry integral PC board posts that accept #4 x 1/4" self-tapping screws, and the maximum board size is listed at 114 mm x 114 mm (board not supplied).

The flange is integrated into the lid, bringing the overall length to 147.36 mm. Four molded countersunk holes (5.00 mm thru) allow installation to a wall or shelf, and an oval hole in each side of the flange lets the unit be strapped or hung with tie wraps. The 1591XXUFLGY is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships in shrink wrap, and can be factory modified by milling, drilling or printing.
