Hammond 1591XXMFLGY Gray Flanged-Lid ABS Project Box, 86x57x27 mm

The 1591XXMFLGY is the smallest flanged-lid gray model in the 1591XX family: a light gray, flame retardant ABS box whose lid carries integrated mounting flanges, so a compact circuit board can be screwed straight to a wall or shelf without a separate bracket. It is aimed at electronics designers and OEM engineers.

The box and flanged lid are molded from flame retardant ABS (FRABS) carrying a UL94 V-0 flammability rating, in a light gray textured finish. The lid is secured with M3 x 10 mm (M3-0.5) Phillips machine screws threaded into integral brass inserts, suited to repeated opening and closing. The purchased assembly includes the box, lid, 4 cover screws and installed brass inserts; light gray enclosures come with nickel plated screws. The enclosure is designed to meet IP54, providing protection against access of dust and splashing water.

Outside, the drawing gives 86.24 mm [3.40 in] long, 57.04 mm [2.25 in] wide and 27.00 mm [1.06 in] high, with the flanged lid extending the overall length to 109.96 mm [4.33 in]. Inside there is 80.85 mm [3.18 in] of length, 51.65 mm [2.03 in] of width and 23.00 mm [.91 in] of height, with a 2.00 mm [.08 in] wall. The largest PCB listed for this part is 80.7 mm x 51.51 mm, and it can be fitted in the box or in the lid; the board is not supplied.

• PCB posts in both box and lid accept #4 x 1/4" self-tapping screws (not included).
• Internal sides are smooth for easy connector installation.
• Four molded countersunk holes (4X 5.00 mm thru, 9.00 mm x 82° countersink) in the flange allow installation to a wall or shelf, and an oval hole in each side of the flange lets the unit be strapped or hung with tie wraps.
• Recommended lid screw torque: (43-50) ozf.in / (30-35) cN.m.

The 1591XXMFLGY is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships in shrink wrap and has a shipping weight of 0.12 lbs (0.05 kg). It can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing), and solid models are available in .stp or .x_t.
