Hammond 1591XXGFLBK 112 x 96 mm Flanged-Lid Black FR Abs Enclosure

The Hammond 1591XXGFLBK is the standard black flame-retardant version of the 1591XXG enclosure, a mid-size member of the 1591XX family of ABS plastic multi-purpose enclosures with PC board standoffs. It is intended for electronics designers, OEM engineers and technicians who need a flanged, general purpose plastic project box that holds a printed circuit board horizontally.

It is molded from easy-to-machine, flame retardant ABS plastic carrying a UL94 V-0 flammability rating, and the lid is secured with M3 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws threaded into integral brass bushings, which suits applications where the enclosure is opened and closed repeatedly. Black enclosures ship with black lid screws.

The ordering table lists the 1591XXG at 4.41 in (112 mm) long, 3.78 in (96 mm) wide and 1.50 in (38 mm) deep; the part page gives a nominal size of 4.8 in x 3.7 in x 1.4 in (122 mm x 94 mm x 36 mm). Inside, the drawing shows 116.30 mm [4.58 in] x 89.75 mm [3.53 in] with 34.00 mm [1.34 in] of inside height and a 2.00 mm [.08 in] wall. A board up to 115.98 mm [4.57 in] x 89.26 mm [3.51 in] fits in either the box or the lid, mounting on the integral standoffs that accept #4 x 1/4" self-tapping screws (not included).

Mounting flanges are integrated into the lid, extending overall length to 146.17 mm [5.75 in]. Four molded countersunk holes (Ø5.00 mm thru, 134.20 mm [5.28 in] spacing) allow installation to a wall or shelf, and an oval hole in each side of the flange lets the unit be strapped or hung with tie wraps. The internal sides are smooth for easy connector installation.

The 1591XXGFLBK is designed to meet IP54 against dust and splashing water, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships shrink wrapped at 0.26 lbs (0.12 kg). Enclosures can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing) and solid models are available in STEP or IGES.
