Hammond 1591XXFGY 221 x 150 mm Gray Flame-Retardant Abs Pcb Enclosure

The Hammond 1591XXFGY is the standard light gray flame-retardant version of the 1591XXF enclosure, the largest size in the 1591XX family of ABS plastic multi-purpose enclosures with PC board standoffs. It is intended for electronics designers, OEM engineers and technicians who need a general purpose plastic project box that holds a printed circuit board horizontally.

It is molded from easy-to-machine, flame retardant ABS plastic carrying a UL94 V-0 flammability rating, and the lid is secured with M3 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws threaded into integral brass bushings, which suits applications where the enclosure is opened and closed repeatedly. Gray enclosures ship with nickel plated lid screws.

The ordering table lists the 1591XXF at 8.70 in (221 mm) long, 5.91 in (150 mm) wide and 2.52 in (64 mm) deep; the part page gives a nominal size of 8.7 in x 5.9 in x 2.3 in (221 mm x 150 mm x 58 mm). Inside, the drawing shows 204.47 mm [8.05 in] x 126.00 mm [4.96 in] with 57.34 mm [2.26 in] of inside height and a 3.00 mm [.12 in] wall. A board up to 204.00 mm [8.03 in] x 133.00 mm [5.24 in] fits in either the box or the lid, mounting on the integral standoffs that accept #4 x 1/4" self-tapping screws (not included).

This version has a plain lid; accessory mounting flanges for the series are sold separately from the enclosures. Unlike the smaller sizes, the 1591XXF is a universal type with PC board standoffs in both lid and enclosure as well as card guides.

The 1591XXFGY is designed to meet IP54 against dust and splashing water, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships shrink wrapped at 0.93 lbs (0.42 kg). Enclosures can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing) and solid models are available in .stp or .x_t.
